Nike Air Metaphor
Mobility Designer
For Nike’s global product launches, I collaborated on two conceptual design narratives that translated performance footwear into high-speed mobility archetypes. The Alphafly 3 was reinterpreted through the architectural logic of a Formula One car, emphasizing aerodynamic efficiency, structural lightness, and mechanical precision, while the Mercurial Superfly X evolved into the silhouette of a supersonic jet, capturing acceleration, dynamic flow, and aerodynamic clarity. These collaborations demonstrate how mobility thinking can move fluidly across industries, transforming athletic innovation into sculptural narratives of speed, structure, and identity.

The Creative Journey
Ideation
The process began by defining the performance metaphor of Nike’s two innovative shoes through high-speed mobility archetypes, translating the Alphafly 3 into the precision language of Formula One engineering and the Mercurial Superfly X into the aerodynamic identity of a supersonic jet. Multiple design proposals were explored to refine proportion, trims, and visual balance, combining mobility design principles with innovative forms to capture speed, lightness, and dynamic motion.
Design
Following the initial concept phase, I developed a series of 3D models to test and refine the metaphors within the storytelling framework of the films. Working closely with the CGI and animation teams, the designs were optimized to achieve seamless integration between form, movement, and narrative, ensuring that each element translated performance innovation into a coherent visual experience.
Unveiling
The final videos were released globally across Nike’s digital platforms and social media channels, forming part of the worldwide campaign presented in Paris ahead of the 2024 Olympic Games. The projects merged footwear innovation with mobility design, transforming performance concepts into cinematic narratives that communicated speed, precision, and technological advancement to a global audience.
