Lead Designer
As the Lead Designer for the Bertone RUNABOUT project, I oversaw the development of both interior and exterior designs, blending heritage with modernity. This limited-series masterpiece reinterprets Bertone's iconic 1969 concept with a bold neo-retro style and high-performance features, including a 500 hp V6 engine. My role encompassed creating a cohesive design vision, ensuring every detail reflected craftsmanship and exclusivity, while maintaining the essence of agility and light-footedness. From the dynamic exterior lines to the intimate, driver-focused cabin, the new RUNABOUT celebrates Bertone's legacy and introduces a fresh, sophisticated aesthetic for the Bertone CLASSIC Line.

Ideation
The exterior design of the Bertone RUNABOUT is crafted around two defining lines, capturing the essence of the original 1969 concept. This minimalist approach emphasizes purity and elegance, with a dynamic, sweeping shoulder line and a taut, sculptural beltline. These elements maintain the soul of the original design while integrating modern proportions and performance features, ensuring the new RUNABOUT reflects both its heritage and contemporary innovation.
Design
The design process for the Bertone RUNABOUT began with a meticulous resketching and redesign of the original 1969 Autobianchi A112 Concept, capturing its essence and key elements. This foundation was then seamlessly integrated onto a modern chassis, transforming the design into a road-legal, high-performance vehicle. By preserving the purity of the original’s defining lines and lightweight spirit, while enhancing functionality and performance, the new RUNABOUT stays true to its roots—delivering a modern tribute that respects its iconic heritage.
Unveiling
The Bertone RUNABOUT was officially unveiled through a digital launch, offering an exclusive glimpse of the limited- edition model. With its timeless color and trim choices, the presentation reinforced the car's blend of heritage and modernity. The clear message targeted car collectors and enthusiasts, highlighting the RUNABOUT as a symbol of design legacy and exclusivity, reinterpreted for the contemporary automotive world.
