Design Lead

I collaborated on the redesign of Air France’s regional cabin experience, introducing a lightweight, sustainable seating system that elevates comfort while significantly reducing aircraft weight and operational impact. The project balances premium passenger experience with measurable efficiency gains — redefining expectations for short-haul aviation interiors.

Design Framework

Vision

Beginning from a clean slate, I approached the redesign of Air France’s regional seating system with a focus on user behavior, long-term usability, and durability. The objective was not simply to introduce new seats, but to redefine comfort and efficiency within the constraints of short-haul aviation.

.

Structure

Material innovation played a central role. The integration of carbon fiber and titanium allowed the seat architecture to become significantly lighter while maintaining structural integrity. Rather than layering components, the design reduces weight through precision engineering, reinforcing the main frame while preserving comfort and functionality.

Unveiling

Beyond weight reduction and sustainability, the seating system was conceived as a cohesive spatial experience. Attention to high-quality materials, finishes, and tactile details ensures that usability, durability, and visual identity operate as one.

The result is a human-centered aviation interior that enhances comfort while measurably improving aircraft efficiency,  aligning passenger expectations with environmental responsibility.
